In winter of 1943, Carmela Montagna 25 years old, long hair, black eyes, on the stairs of underground in S.Anna di Palazzo gave birth to a baby girl. After her birth the mother preferred to live there, at a forty meters depth, rather than fighting every day with the fear of bombing.
After six month unfortunately the small life of Anna ended, because of pneumonia, caused by 90% humidity, the same as today.
